Why Do Good Co.?

It all happened very serendipitously. Like many people quarantine forced me to reevaluate my priorities and where I saw my life going career wise. I decided to move back to KC and I wanted to find a job that I could be passionate about.  I already had all the pieces to the puzzle it just took a little searching and the instagram algorithm to realize Do Good Co. was the big picture. I love fashion, children and animals, and being involved in the creative community. Do Good helped me find my “why” -I love what we stand for and I am so happy to be surrounded everyday by such cool inspiring gals.

What does “doing good” mean to you?

“Doing Good" means giving back to the community and people that helped shaped who I am. It means making conscious decisions to better the environment around me. It means spreading positivity.

What sign are you?

I’m a Cancer sun, Scorpio moon, and Virgo Rising. The rest of my chart is riddled with Gemini. Your assumptions are probably correct.

What is the first thing you notice about a stranger?

Pre-Covid I would have said smile.  I think you can tell a lot about a persons energy by the way they first smile at you. Now I would have to say, they way people carry themselves. I absolutely love when people have no physical filter. I’m not quite sure how to word it but you know when you chat or talk with a new human and they laugh like they are in the privacy of their own home, I love that, just immediate comfortability with who they are.

Top 3 songs of the moment?

Real Love - Father John Misty

My Person - Tayler Bunono

Everytime - Britney Spears

What does your land of love look like?

A drizzly morning and a clear starry night. The kind of temperature where you have a sweatshirt on but at the peak of day its a little too hot. Tons of colorful flowers that back up to the ocean, and peach trees lots and lots of peach trees. Surrounded by my friends and family sharing a large meal together. Like living inside of a painting, calm.

What are you most excited about for the future?

I am most excited to watch my friends and family grow. I recently became an aunt and I think getting to witness that major milestone was a moment of clarity. I am so happy to be a part of all of their lives I can't wait to see the amazing things they do!

What did you grow up believing “beautiful” looked like? Where did that come from? How has it evolved?

I always believed that was something found in moments. I’m not entirely sure what this stems from but I think its probably has a lot to do with my mom. When I was very young she was a photographer and she always found such beauty in the messy moments and captured them so well. She never really cared what people thought and she always celebrated my urge to be individualistic. I think as I got older I had to learn to see beauty in simplicity. I am now try to find that balance, I don’t think I have it fully figured out yet.

Where did you grow-up? Best/worst thing about living there?

I grew up in Shawnee, KS. I also grew up going to Catholic School which I think is important to mention. The area I lived in was very involved with both my church and school. So, I got to grow up in a really tight knit community and around my best friends both of which were amazing. The thing that I didn’t love was how sheltered the community was, my parents made an active effort to make sure we knew what the world looked like outside of our bubble. But it was still very much a bubble.

What is your dream vacation?

Ireland. Although there is a strong chance if I go I will never come back.

5 words that your friends would use to describe you?

Let me ask them!

  1. Sarcastic
  2. Driven
  3. Loyal
  4. Spirited
  5. Resilient

If you had a superpower what would it be?

Time travel. I think it would be so cool to actually go back and live the experiences people talk about. I think the past is often skewed and I would love to get to see things first hand.

Last but not least, what is your dream job?

Depends on the day. In this moment, my dream job is to have a little corner diner that only has a daily menu and great coffee. I love cozy mornings and talking with strangers. It just sounds lovely and wholesome.
